Robin Hood: Get Carter! Episode
The Sheriff has hired a mercenary to kill Robin Hood, Carter. He is ready and willing to do this. Marion, in the meantime, is learning how to live as an outlaw with Robin. When they see an attack on a village and a man about to be hanged, she will not listen to Robin about waiting to help and runs in, causing the rest of the gang to follow so she will not be killed. This is a ploy to get Carter next to Robin Hood. As Robin is trying to save the man about to be hanged, Carter takes Robin’s bow and shoots the rope so that man goes free. Robin has had to tie Marion up during the fighting and she is angry about it. When the gang goes to talk to Carter he has cut himself so that he appears injured and can be added to Robin’s gang. Munch seems to recognize Carter but he denies that they have met.
Marion is furious about being tied up and the two fight. She wants to do things her way but Robin wants her to listen to him like the rest. She walks off and Little John follows. They talk about how he used to have his own men and he tells her that there can only be one leader. But he also tells her it’s her father that she is angry about. Marion agrees and says she wants to get on with things because of his death.
Meanwhile Carter starts to cause trouble for the gang. He scares Djaq and when she tells him she should be resting, he says he has things to do. After that you see Will working on something in the woods and Carter grabs him. Little John and Marion hear him yell but when John goes to investigate he is captured and then Marion is taken. When Robin goes back to camp, he sees them all tied up and finds Carter behind him demanding the pact back for the sheriff. Robin manages to knock him unconscious and they decide to get rid of Carter.
Gisborne is pining after Marion and the Sheriff says he has a message from her. When Gisborne hears it, he knows the Sheriff is lying. So he tells Alan that he needs to find Marion. Alan comes upon Marion alone in the forest because Robin forbade her to come with them. Since Gisborne does not know she has gone with Robin, Alan decides to let Marion say she is at the nunnery at Immaculate Conception grieving and praying for her father. He captures a nun to use her ring for an insignia to give proof to Gisborne that she is there. However he does not believe that Marion would take holy vows and is determined to go see her.
To try and change Carter, Robin takes him with the gang to the village to comfort the widows of the soldiers killed while rescuing the man who was about to be hanged. As the gang is about to leave, Carter attacks Will and Robin goes to find him. Inside a barn the two meet and Carter tells Robin that they did not meet in the Holy Land but that Robin killed his brother. As they fight Carter describes how he has dreamed of this moment for a long time to avenge his brother’s death. Robin lets Carter know the truth about his brother, that he led a charge and got himself killed. Robin is able to convince Carter that he did not kill his brother but tried to save him.
Back at the camp, the gang talks and Carter tells how he joined the Knights Templar. They decide to give the Sheriff the pact and a dead Robin Hood when they find out the message to the king never made it. Marion is surprised to see Carter with them but bows to Robin’s authority when he wants her to stay at the camp after she hears the plan. Of course she defies him. When Robin’s body gets to Gisborne, he decides to cut off the head to make sure he is dead. Marion steps in and tells Gisborne she needs to speak with him to save Robin. Carter makes Munch and Will leave, telling them he will pay them later as the hired help with the body.
Marion tells Gisborne to leave hr alone, she needs time to think. He says he never will while there is still a chance for them. Alan breaks in and says the Sheriff is going to put Robin’s head on a stake. Carter gives Robin the potion to wake him up and the Sheriff realizes he has been double crossed. To keep Gisborne from going right away, Marion kisses Gisborne pasionately. When she sees Robin trying to escape she tells Gisborne she is leaving and it was a mistake with her grieving. As she walks away, the alarm rings out about Robin escaping. Carter and Robin fight their way out of the castle to the walls and jump to safety on a hay cart Will and Djaq have gotten. Carter decides to leave and help Robin by warning the king. Marion and Robin come to a truce and realize they have to work through their differences.
